Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4
Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4
The 1985 CJ-7 started its life with me as a tired beast that ran poorly, stalled much of the time but was a nice replacement for the IceHound Z. The 33-inch mud tires were old and needed replacing, and many of the driveline and suspension components were nearing the end of their life. After some thought towards what I wanted the end product to be like I replaced the axels, tie rods, worked on the body and frame, replaced the lights and seats, put original reconditioned chrome wheels on it sporting new, more appropriate 31-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO tires for a retro look. The hubs were rebuilt and I did lots of work on the engine, transmission and transfer box. After attending to the mechanical issues, I repainted it and fixed the top. The result is very close to that 'just-off-the-line' factory condition you see here.
It was fun but I sold it in July of 2020 and bought a Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 (below) for my next challenge - I've already replaced the engine.
